VVA

VVA stands for "Safety for Contractors" (veiligheid voor aannemers). It is a certifiable norm, whereby contractors can demonstrate that they comply with the ARBO legislation. In short, contractors can show employers that they work safely as required in the law and regulations.

VVA Name change

Since the end of the nineties, the name VVA was changed to VCA, which stands for "Safety Checklist for Contractors" (Veiligheids Checklist Aannemers). The VVA course and VVA exam are essentially unchanged. The purpose of the course has always remained the same; to create a standard for a safe working environment.

VVA Regulations

VCA, previously VVA, is not a legal requirement. The customer can demand that external parties are VCA certified. There are more and more employers who see VCA certification as a standard. For personnel who execute the work, a VCA basic safety certificate is sufficient and managers should be able to show a VCA VOL certificate.
