Individual versus company certification
VCA personal certification is concerned with basic safety or VOL VCA. This diploma is obtained by an individual by following the e-learning training package and then taking an exam. Company certification is wider. For a company to obtain a certificate, one of the requirements is that the employees in the operation are in possession of a (personal certificate) VCA diploma. In addition there are a number of other requirements. There are also several VCA variants, like VCU and Petrochemestrie.
Getting a VCA company certificate
VCA is about Safety, Health and Environment (Veiligheid, Gezondheid en Milieu = VGM). You must deal with these in a structured and consequential manner. You do this by setting up a safety system (or having one set up for you). This describes how you act within the company in questions concerning VGM. The VCA schema covers the following areas:
